USB-Link, USB-Link 2, and USB-Link 3 Troubleshooting Procedure

Open the NEXIQ Device Tester.
Go through each drop-down menu one at a time and click Test for each selection. -
Verify data communication.
Confirm that you are receiving data on:-
J1708
-
J1939 Channel 1
-
J1939 Channel 2
-
-
Important:
If you are not receiving data in the Device Tester, you will not receive data in any program that uses the USB-Link.
Basic Checks

Bypass any electronic driver log (if applicable).

Ensure the vehicle key is in the ON position.

Replace the USB cable between the laptop and the NEXIQ adapter.

Check (pin out) the 6-pin or 9-pin vehicle diagnostic port to verify proper voltage and signal at the connector.
Make sure that you have the correct driver install for your adapter.
